TRAX-IT Slaughterhouse Software Systems is a product of Merit-Trax Technologies Inc, a recognized contributor to the development of traceability and food safety technology. We are committed to the continual development of value added traceability software that will maximize the use and benefits of traceability implementation.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many of our small to medium size slaughterhouse customers have experienced increased customer demand, while having to do deal with labor shortages and ‘lack of experience’ issues.
To help with these problems, Merit-Trax Technologies has worked with our customers to make changes to their operating procedures, which in conjunction with the software modifications that we made for them, has enabled them to meet the increased demand with fewer experienced staff.
Our software helps slaughterhouses find the true cost and margins made from their livestock purchases, by tracking from the supplier lot, or farm of origin, through the slaughterhouse to the customer. By doing this we can show you exactly how much of what you spend is turned into profit, and what’s not being used.
We can maintain the identity of the carcasses and supplier lots from reception to the boxed meat. This allows slaughterhouses to determine their true carcass utilization and cost. With this data, you are able to see which suppliers are generating your best yields and overall value, and by using the cut out prices, you can compare your potential sales revenue and margins with your actual revenue and margins, per invoice. Wouldn’t you want to know how well your business is performing without having to spend all that time with Excel?
Our slaughterhouse traceability software uses our award winning traceability technology in innovative ways to improve your operations while integrating your data collection needs for production management, quality assurance, food safety and traceability. Record keeping is carried out in real-time using rugged handheld and touch screen computers, wireless networks and interfaces to other data collection devices.
TRAX-IT Slaughterhouse Software includes the TRAX-IT Traceability Server which is an innovative implementation of PLC conveyance system logic that is built using a SQL Server Database. The design allows more data to be collected and used at different points on the conveyance systems compared to a firmware based PLC. It is an ideal solution for conveyance systems for small and medium-sized slaughterhouse operations at rates of 80 head per hour or less..
The TRAX-IT Slaughterhouse Traceability Systems and the TRAX-IT Traceability Server have received a Canadian Information Productivity Award for Excellence in Innovation and a VICS Collaborative Commerce Achievement Award as Most Innovative Third Party Technology Provider. Merit-Trax Technologies has also been recognized by Business Solutions Magazine and received an award as an innovator in the use of RFID technology.
TRAX-IT Slaughterhouse software includes 3 integrated modules which can be used as stand-alone solutions or as an integrated system: Slaughter, Processing (Cut and Pack), and Distributions (Store and Ship). TRAX-IT Slaughterhouse Traceability System provides many business advantages with data instantly available to managers and floor operators to track production and trigger alerts before production, quality assurance or food safety problems occur.
Our software helps to meet FSMA and SFCR requirements.
The FDA has finalized and integrated seven major rules to implement FSMA,
recognizing that ensuring the safety of the food supply is a shared responsibility
among many different points in the global food supply chain.
The FSMA rules are designed to make clear specific actions that
must be taken critical points to prevent contamination and ensure easier traceability.
The Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) were designed to improve
food product quality and safety for Canadian customers. To be licensed,
companies must have a rigorous food safety program based on
the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) methodology.
These food safety regulations are continually being updated and having boosted rules added to be enforced.
When it comes to the food business and consumers, they want to know
that they can trust the companies that are supplying the public.
Not only is having software that meets traceability and regulation requirements a way
to establish that consumer confidence, but it is also bottom line proficient
in helping you make the best production decisions to maximise potential profit and proficiency
